The First Door

Your athletes execute in practice and vanish in games. In eight weeks — one on one, inside your actual program — I'll rebuild how you design practice, from the perception up, so what they learn finally shows up when it counts.

There's no checkout page. There's an application, a call, and a decision two people make together.

6 founding spots · application only

Six questions. Four minutes. You hear back within 48 hours — a yes or a no, straight either way.

Your athletes execute all week and vanish on Friday.

You have been told that is focus, or nerves, or how badly they want it. It is none of those. An expert and a beginner standing in the same arena are not seeing the same arena — the openings one perceives simply do not exist for the other. Not ignored. Not there.

So an athlete who performs in training and disappears in competition was never showing you a character flaw. Their practice taught them to read a world that doesn't arrive on game day: predictable feeds, blocked drills, coach-initiated everything. The game presented a different world, and they were blind in it.

No speech fixes blindness. A redesigned environment does. That is the entire work of these eight weeks.

What the eight weeks are

  1. 01Weeks 1–2

    The audit

We map what your athletes actually see. I watch your practice and your competition footage side by side and find the gap between the information your sessions offer and the information the game demands. Most coaches have never once looked at this gap. It is usually the whole problem.

  2. 02Weeks 3–6

    The redesign

We rebuild your environment around that gap — constraints and representative tasks that force the perception you have been trying to lecture into existence. You run them that week. I watch what happened. We adjust. This is the part no course can do for you, because it only works against your athletes, your sport, your calendar.

  3. 03Weeks 7–8

    The transfer test

We pressure-test against real competition. What survives the game stays in your program. What doesn't gets redesigned in front of you, so you learn the redesign move itself. You finish able to do this without me.

What you leave with

The output isn't a folder of drills. It's a coach who designs sight.

  • A practice environment built on the information your sport actually presents, not the drill book's version of it.
  • The ability to look at any session and name what it is teaching your athletes to see — and what it is teaching them to ignore.
  • Constraints you designed yourself, tested against your own competition, that you can rebuild when the season changes.
  • A defensible answer for the parent, athletic director, or assistant who asks why practice no longer looks like practice.

Who this is for

Apply if

  • You coach a real program and can change how practice runs next week.
  • Your athletes execute in training and disappear in competition.
  • You have read enough to distrust the drill book but have no method to replace it.
  • You want to be able to do this yourself, permanently, not rent it from me.

Don't apply if

  • You want a folder of drills you can run on Monday without thinking.
  • You want motivation, culture slides, or a mindset framework.
  • You are not currently coaching anyone.
  • You need consensus from a committee before you can change a session.
Portrait of the founder of Resonance

The empire made me. Then I went outside.

Two national championships. All-American six times over. I was the old model's proof of concept — the poster they'd print to sell you talent-plus-effort.

Then I hit the ceiling that model always builds, and did the one thing it can't forgive: I stopped asking it questions. Six years outside — deep in ecological dynamics, perception science, and constraints-led skill acquisition — as a student of the research and a working practice designer.

What I found is the industry's nightmare: skill was never talent plus effort. It's perception, built by design. This mentorship is the most direct way I know to hand that over.

How the door opens

  1. 01

    The application

A short written application. It asks what you coach, what keeps failing on game day, and what you have already tried. Written, not a form of checkboxes — I read every one myself.

  2. 02

    The call

If the fit looks real, we talk for forty-five minutes. Not a sales call. I want to hear your actual practice, and you should be interrogating whether I am worth eight weeks of your season.

  3. 03

    The decision

There is no checkout page. We decide together on the call, or shortly after. If it is not a fit I will tell you plainly, and usually point you at what would serve you better.

Before you apply

When does it start?
The first cohort begins October 12, and runs eight weeks from there. Apply before then — the six spots are filled as the calls happen, so the door can close before the start date. If you are mid-season on October 12, that is usually an argument for doing this now rather than later: the redesign work happens inside practices you are already running.
What sport is this for?
The method is sport-agnostic because perception is. I have worked deepest in throws and field sports, but the audit-redesign-transfer sequence holds anywhere athletes have to read a situation and act inside it. If your sport is genuinely closed-skill and self-paced, say so in the application and I will tell you honestly whether it applies.
How much time does it take?
One call a week, plus footage. The redesign work happens inside practices you are already running, so the added load is thinking, not hours. If you cannot commit to changing anything in your sessions for eight weeks, this will not work.
What does it cost?
The founding rate is held for these six coaches and discussed on the call, once we both know the work is a fit. I am not going to quote a number to someone I have not spoken to. Founding spots price below anything that follows.
Why only six?
Because it is one on one, inside your program, and I am the only one doing it. Six is what I can do without the work getting thin. When it's full, it's closed — I don't reopen doors, I build new ones, at new prices.
Is this certification?
No. There is no letterhead behind this and no acronym at the end. You leave with a redesigned program and the ability to keep redesigning it. If you need a credential, the empire sells several.

Six coaches walk through this one.

You don't need permission. You need perception. If you've read this far, you already know whether this is your work. The first six begin .
